What AI social media video costs in 2026
Almost every article about AI video pricing quotes a monthly subscription and stops there. That number tells you what a tool charges. It doesn't tell you what a video costs — and if you're deciding between four videos a month and forty, that's the only number that matters.
So here it is, worked out properly. Not a range, not “starting from” — what one video costs you on each plan.
What one video costs you
Every plan draws from one credit pool. Writing never touches it — that's unlimited on every tier. Images and video are what consume credits, so the real question is what a credit costs you, and that falls as the plan gets bigger.
| What you make | Starter $29 | Pro $99 | Agency $299 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marketing image | $0.22 | $0.19 | $0.18 |
| Narrated video (4 scenes) | $0.58 | $0.50 | $0.48 |
| Real-motion video (every scene animated) | $3.63 | $3.09 | $2.99 |
| Premium cinematic clip, with generated sound | $7.25 | $6.19 | $5.98 |
| Written posts, ads, emails, product copy | Unlimited — never costs credits | ||
That's the plan price divided by the credits it includes, multiplied by what each output costs in credits. No per-seat fee, no invoice per render, nothing that appears later. You can check the arithmetic against the pricing page in about thirty seconds, which is rather the point.
The cheap tier is not the bad tier
Look at the second row. A narrated video — AI-generated visuals, a voiceover, burned-in captions, slow camera moves, stitched together — costs about fifty cents. It's roughly one twelfth the price of a premium clip.
And for most small-business posting, it's the right choice. A tip video, a service explainer, a “here's what we're open for this week” update — none of those get better because the background has real motion in it. They get better when they exist, are legible on a phone with the sound off, and go out on schedule.
The premium tier earns its price in a narrow band: the hero clip. The one at the top of your landing page, the ad you're putting money behind, the thing that has to stop a cold scroll. Spending six dollars there is obviously right. Spending it on your Tuesday post is how people conclude AI video is expensive.
Working out your own monthly number
Start from output, not from a subscription price. Say you want three social videos a week — twelve a month.
- Twelve narrated videos on Starter: about $7 of your $29, leaving most of the pool for images.
- Twelve real-motion videos: that's 3,000 credits, so Starter's 2,000 won't carry it — this is a Pro workload, about $37 of your $99.
- Twelve real-motion plus two premium hero clips: 4,000 credits. Comfortable on Pro, with room left for roughly 260 images.
Pick the plan by the work you actually intend to do, not by the tier name. And if a month runs hot, a top-up covers it without forcing an upgrade — 1,000 credits for $20, and top-up credits never expire.
Three things to check before you commit to any tool
- What resolution does the quoted price get you? Vertical video that isn't native 1080×1920 looks soft on a phone, and upscaling it looks exactly like upscaling it. A price isn't comparable until the resolution is pinned next to it.
- Does video sound cost extra? On a lot of platforms generated audio is billed on top of the clip. On ours it's included in the premium clip price above.
- What happens when a render fails? A failed generation that still bills you is a real cost, and you'll only discover it on your first bad week. Ours refunds the credits automatically.
Why we publish this at all
Because almost nobody does. Most AI video pricing gives you a monthly number and a vague “credits” word, and you find out what a video really costs after you've paid. Working it out in public is a reasonable thing to expect from a tool you're about to put your marketing on.
Plans and platform limits move, so this page carries an “Updated” date at the top. When the maths changes, the page changes.
